Jeff Theisen – President
Jeff is a 22 year veteran of the auto body industry. Jeff began his auto body career early and painted his first car at the age of 14. Originally from St. Cloud Minnesota, Jeff moved to Colorado in 1998 and continued his line of work in the auto body world. While working for a national auto body chain, Jeff quickly climbed the corporate ladder in his profession. He has held a variety of positions within the industry and prides himself on his dedication to the trade. Jeff's experience ranges from estimator to general manger, from district manager to regional manager. As manager, he specialized in increasing body shop growth through his operations and marketing efforts. In 2000, Jeff decided to become a business owner and purchased Pearl Auto Body, located on 47th and Pearl Street in Boulder, Colo. Jeff had a goal of redefining the experience of the repair process by completing a professional, quality repair in an appropriate amount of time. Jeff went onto open three more Pearl Auto Body locations.
Jeff established Gunslinger Custom Paint in 2003 as a business concept at the Pearl Auto Body Denver facility after being approached by Thunder Mountain Custom Cycles of Loveland, Colo. to create a custom paint company for their custom motorcycle business. Today, Jeff oversees the overall operations of Gunslinger while his counterpart and co-owner, David Call, manages Pearl Auto Body. Jeff currently lives in Golden, Colo. and is an avid supporter of the local community.

David Call – Vice President
David Call has been in the auto body industry for more than 29 years. He began his career on the repair side of the auto body business as a painter helper in January 1982. In 1990, Dave moved into an estimator/production manager role. In March of 1992, Dave became the general manager of Colorado Coach in Boulder, Colo. In 1996, Dave became the general manager at Aspen Auto Body. A national auto body chain purchased Aspen Auto Body in the summer of 1998 and advanced Dave to a district manager for the company. Dave quickly transitioned from district manger to market vice president for the state of Colorado. As market vice president for the national auto body chain, Dave expanded the company to six new locations in a 14 month period. Dave also increased the company’s sales to a run rate of 36 million for five years before departing from the company in November 2004.
Dave shifted his focus to entrepreneurship in 2004 when he purchased shares in Pearl Auto Body and became a co-owner with Jeff Theisen. In 2009, Dave became a business partner in Gunslinger Customer Paint. Together, Dave and Jeff have grown Pearl Auto Body from only three locations and 28 employees to the current six facilities with more than 90 employees. Gunslinger Custom Paint moved to its current, 28,000 square foot facility in Golden, Colo. in 2005.

John Pugh – Art Director
John is a Colorado native and brings more than 35 years of experience to Gunslinger Custom Paint. John's passion for the fine arts has led him into many mediums throughout the years. Beginning his career with an apprenticeship at the Denver Public Schools graphic department, John quickly acquired the skills of sign-painting, silk-screen, large murals and logo design. From there, John moved onto a local custom paint shop, where he expanded his knowledge to airbrushing, pinstripe, custom paint and fiberglass lay-up. With the combination of his experience, his pallet of colors and knowledge, John made his way to the national stage of NHRA drag racing where he painted for the legends of the quarter-mile sport. John's automotive artistry garnered numerous awards and notoriety from clients such as McDonalds, Coors, Mopar, Fruit of the Loom, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Miller, Skoal, Penske Racing, Motorcraft and many others.
Gunslinger welcomed John as the art director in October 2004. As the art director, John creates new designs and paint schemes for Gunslinger's clients. When John is not creating the latest design for Gunslinger, he is creating his one-of-a-kind art pieces, "Liquid Abstractions." This unique and innovative technique utilizes honey-thick resins and polymer based clears with translucent toners, reflective flakes, micas, pearls, silver and gold powders. John manipulates each layer of color with heat, brushes, air pressure, squirt bottles and the help of gravity. Mike Schaf – Lead Pinstriper and Graphic Artist
Mike, originally from New Jersey, moved to Colorado in 2006 and joined the Gunslinger’s Custom Paint crew in June of the same year. Mike brings more than 25 years of design experience to the custom paint shop. Prior to joining Gunslinger, Mike owned his own custom paint business. Mike attended Ocean County College in New Jersey where he earned his associate degree. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He currently lives in Arvada, Colo.

Shana “Sparky” Brandt – Custom Paint Specialist
Shana has been a member of the Gunslinger family since November 2003. As the custom paint specialist, Shana generates unique pinstriping, lettering, paint layouts, designs and much more. Shana has more than 10 years experience in the custom paint industry. Prior to working at Gunslinger, Shana worked for a body shop in North Dakota as a collision repair technician. She holds an associate degree from a technical college in North Dakota. Shana has lived in Colorado for more than eight years and currently lives in Thornton, Colo. Aside from her passion for design, Shana enjoys working on her ’65 Mustang.

Rene' Mattei – Lead Airbrush Artist
Gunslinger Custom Paint welcomed Rene' to its team in April 2006. He currently holds the position of lead airbrush artist. During his five years with Gunslinger, Rene' has been instrumental in producing the design, layout and airbrush for several custom paint projects including The Creature Feature bike, a motorcycle with a 60’s monster movie theme. Rene' is a Colorado native and studied at the Art Institute of Colorado. When he is not mastering a new airbrush design for Gunslinger, he enjoys playing a game of golf, baseball or softball.
